HUPKWONDO
HUPKWONDO is Malaysian Martial art Founded by Grandmaster Lee in 1989 in Malaysia. HUPKWONDO is a martial art with movements that are free flowing instead of rigid and jerky movements of traditional martial arts. The techniques and movements are in HUPKWONDO are derived from Kodachi-Lado (Japanese short sword), Kendo (Japanese bamboo sword), Bokken (Japanese Wooden sword), Wado-Shimpo(Japanese formless and flowing meditation art), Taekwondo, Karate, Kick Boxing and element of modern street Self Defense. All long, rigid, tense movements have been changed to shorter, rounder, free flowing movement and the principle is “maximum impact with minimum energy lost”.
“Hupkwondo Federation of India (HFI) is the only National Federation for Hupkwondo Self Defense Martial Art and Hupkwondo sports in India duly affiliated with World Hupkwondo Council (WHC),
Asian Hupkwondo Union (AHU), International Sports Martial Art Committee (ISMAC) and World Martial Arts Committee (WMAC). Hupkwondo is included in the calendar of the School Games
Federation of India(SGFI) and is a medal event.
VAYMA – is the only officially Recognised member for Hupkwondo for both TAMILNADU State & PUDUCHERRY Union Territory.
